Safety Tips for Halloween in San Diego

10/29/2019 (Permalink)

Halloween is just around the corner and its so important to be prepared and plan a safe and fun Halloween with the family. Below are safety tips in order to stay safe this Halloween.

-Plan your night ahead. Know who you are going to take trick or treating and where you are going trick or treating.

-Wear bright colors if possible. Reflective tape or reflective strips on shoes helps, too.

-Accompany the younger kids all the way to the door. Keep at eye on the older kids to and from the front doors. Only attend the homes that are well-lit from the street. Don't go to any homes without porch lights on.

-Always, always check each piece of candy before allowing anyone to consume it. Anything without factory packaging or evidence of tampering should be thrown away immediately.

If you are in the neighborhood of SERVPRO of La Jolla, please stop by and say hello! Our staff is ready to say hello and of course give out candy the entire week of Halloween. Be safe, everybody!

Biggest Home Sale in a Decade - Del Mar Mansion $21.5 Million

3/1/2018 (Permalink)

The highest selling home in San Diego County history was also in Del Mar, a 10,700-square-foot home on Ocean Front Avenue that sold for $48.2 million in 2007, said the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors.

The Del Mar sale last week marks the first time a home sold for more than $20 million since December 2007.

Positioned on 1.1 acres overlooking the ocean, the property has a saltwater pool and spa, a detached guest house, private driveway and guest parking, fire pit, barbecue area and panoramic views.

Amenities inside the home include a movie theater, elevator, office, walnut floors and cabinetry, walk-in master closet with a jewelry safe, as well as radiant floor heating in the kitchen, dining room and outdoor patio.

The home has six bedrooms and 7 ½ baths.

It was first listed for sale in September for $24.9 million and spent 151 days on the market.

Many real estate agents that sell high-end properties in the county said in December they were hopeful luxury housing will see a boost in 2018 following major tax code changes approved by Congress.

Restoring vandalized parks

SERVPRO of La Jolla is happy to help our local communities!

SERVPRO of La Jolla is happy to help our local community with anything we are able to! We had the opportunity to restore a local park from heavily vandalized conditions.

Below is an excerpt from Newscaster, Anthony Pura of 10 News.

Love this update to a story I did last week on 10News – ABC San Diego KGTV.

It was about a vandalized community park. The folks at SERVPRO of La Jolla saw it and decided to help BAME CDC clean off the graffiti at Gilliam Family Community Space and Garden in Logan Heights.
The park was closed for days because the graffiti was vulgar and inappropriate for kids and families, but SERVPRO guys were up for the task! The park is all clean now and should be ready for the community movie night on Friday!
